IDK

It has been drilled into our conscience that life is all about making the right choices. What defines right has been passed on through the ages. And about 200 years ago, I wouldn't have been writing this. I wouldn't even mind it. But times are a changing. And our ideologiesare stuck in a time warp. So you have to tread cautiously at every step. Collateral Damage is not permissible. Internally you can die. The futility of the whole thing is overwhelming. The obligatory nature of every dysfunctional family is worse than the guilty solace of a broken one.

So every passing day is an existence. A mere passage into the next, where most likely the drab and mundane will face you. And the exhilaration of solitude suddenly seems pointless too. When that was all you had in the first place.

  2. Profound piece of writing (profound in part, because it is ambiguous :P).

But some fundamentals don't change. Life is - even today - about making the "right" choices. Only difference is, we live - for the most part - in an age of abundance as compared to our father's generation. And that complicates the process of choosing. Because the calculation of the price you pay for each choice is becoming more complex. And the depth of the emotional pocket needed to sustain that price is increasing (that is why Israel could pay the price in the form of Netanyahu during Operation Entebbe but we paid differently at Kandahar. that is why divorce rates are lower in India than in the US).

But you have to still choose. Whether the choices is between the red pill or the blue one or something simpler.
